Rootwood Expanse
The planetary body that fills an entire gaseous cloud, a sprawling root-like organism connected through one vast mushroom network. The Mycorzha Isles grow from it.
The Rootwood Expanse is the planetary body upon which the Mycorzha Isles rest. It is not a planet in the traditional sense. The Expanse is a single, enormous organism resembling a giant sprawling tree root, threaded through with one vast mushroom network. It fills the entirety of the gaseous cloud it occupies, growing to fit every crevice and stopping only at the edges of the atmosphere itself.
The Mycorzha Isles are not separate from the Rootwood Expanse. They rest on mushrooms that sprout from its surface, growing upward into formations large and stable enough to hold soil, water, and entire ecosystems. The Isles are, in a very real sense, fruiting bodies of the Expanse, connected to it and to each other through the mycelial network that runs beneath everything.
